As part of ACSI project, CEBUNA distributed maize and bean seeds to 360 families and provided Tool kits to 150 young entrepreneurs with small businesses in Nakivale Refugee Settlement

 

Distribution of the seeds

The seeds distribution was done on 21st February, 2022 to 360 families of vulnerable refugees (new arrivals) from Rubondo sub-camp. The distribution targeted three villages Of Rubondo: Karitima A, Rwoma A, and Kisura C. 120 households from each village were served and every family was given 5kgs of bean seed and 5kgs of maize seed. This activity enabled 12 refugees to be employed as part time workers including the Chairmen of the latter villages.

TOOL KITS DISTRIBUTION

The outbreak of Covid-19 paralysed all kind of business within nakivale refugee settlement the reason why CEBUNA supported 150 young entrepreneurs with small businesses within the settlement through ACSIproject. The tool kits were given to the entrepreneurs who managed to resume their businesses in spite of the roadbloacks faced during the pandemic lockdowns.

                                                     SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

In its child-care program, CEBUNA organization supported by Segal Family Foundation and Choose Yourself organization is now supporting the education of forty children from different communities of nakivale refugee settlement who had lost hope of resuming their studies after the damage caused by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The program will cover all the cost of the scholastic materials and school fees for the forty children.

2023 SUPPORT OF 50 SCHOOL CHILDREN THROUGH CHILD – CARE PROGRAM

The number of scholars who benefit from CEBUNA’s Scholarship project has increased from 40 to 50 school children by help of a philanthropist who supported the program within this 2023 school year through KINGBAUDOUIN FOUNDATION.

Distribution of Scholastic Materials

The distribution of scholastic materials that took place after the agreement between CEBUNA organization and the parents/guardians of the 35 children. The agreement took both parties to the signing of the parental consent form. The support of these 35 children was made possible By help of SFF support aiming to assist children from the most vulnerable families that were affected by Covid-19 pandemic to go back to school. Together with Choose Yourself organization, CEBUNA is also supporting  another group of five girls from Community schools of Nakivale refugee settlement.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

In partnership with CEBUNA, Choose Yourself is working on Entrepreneurship project “Home away from home project” aiming to support 30 young women and help them to be self-reliant through job creation and improvement of their existing businesses. The Trainings are being conducted by KISOBOKA organization
